Our Mission:
To gather, recognize and celebrate the continuing annual commitment of each of our member veterinarians to provide some level of absolutely free spay neuter services to the needy animals of their choice, along with any other free services they choose to provide.

Our Lucky Stars
We currently have 9 member veterinarians (Lucky Star Vets) in private practice and 1 spay neuter clinic participating, representing 8 hospitals in eight NJ towns.

Together these professionals have generously pledged 202 absolutely free spay neuter surgeries and other services for needy animals in 2004:

NJ’s Animal Welfare Task Force Report, released Nov 11th ,found 40% of animals impounded in NJ are euthanized, a rate of 4,000 per month! (Daily Record, Morris County)

NJARA FOCUS ON FERAL CATS
NJ Animal Rights Alliance has taken over the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation’s Feral Cat Spay Neuter Subsidy Program. NJARA will also coordinate efforts of 6 other groups working on Trap,Neuter,Return. NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR LUCKY STAR SPOKES DOG!
Once feral kitten,“ Betsy”, trapped in 2003, & inspiration for the program is the Lucky Star “spokes cat”. Send nominations for Lucky Star “spokes dog”, helped by the Program, with story & photo, if available. Fame awaits!! Deadline: July 31st 2005.
